Banshee gets Ubuntu One Music Store and AmazonMP3 in Natty Narwhal by default and a decent revenue
It seems that recently there have been some contradictory discussion between the Banshee team and Canonical concerning the percentage of the revenue given by Canonical (who wants to become profitable and sustainable) to Banshee/Gnome Foundation (related to Ubuntu One Music Store and AmazonMP3 plugins).
The conclusions (settlement) are:
- in Ubuntu 11.04, Natty Narwhal, Banshee will have bot AmazonMP3 and Ubuntu One Music Store turned on by default
- Gnome Foundation will receive 25% of the revenue from the AmazonMP3
- "We will also also start contributing 25% of revenue from the Ubuntu One Music Store on both Banshee and Rhythmbox, to the GNOME Foundation" says Cristian Parrino, the Canonical Online Services team leader
