Calibre 0.8.63 released with theming support (PPA available)

Convert books, edit documents, fetch online news, view numerous file formats, adjust metadata, etc, are actions easily to be performed with Calibre, a full-fledged versatile e-book manager, that combines both powerful editing capabilities and a solid e-book viewer.

Usually, a powerful application tends to equal its features with configuration options, by, first, landing features, followed by adding appropriate configuration options, from where the users are to adjust the features to fit their use cases.

Calibre is definitely a tool where new/improved features walk hand-in-hand with tweak options, approach that strengthens its usability and reached audience level, meaning, a simplistic new configuration option can be perceived and used as solid new addition when allows users to push their additions via the new simplistic feature that acts as a "gate" and/or as a per-user-settings keeper.

Calibre has been updated to another exciting release, 0.8.63, introducing new interesting tweaking support.

The new 0.8.63 version introduces Colors and backgrounds, a fresh addition under Calibre-->E-book viewer-->Preferences-->General-->Colors and backgrounds, featuring the option to select colors for background and text, meaning, changing the Background color to orange and Text color to green, displays the read e-books with orange background on green text (the change applies only to the E-book viewer's view, not to Calibre's overall look&feel).

Choosing faulty colors is to be reverted by simply clicking the Reset button, action that reverts the E-book viewer to its original state.

Setting colors is (on-demand) to have numerous use cases, such as setting a dark background on light text when the computer is surrounded by a full-of-light room/office, dark text on white background when viceversa, approach that can be easily encapsulated into a theme.

After setting desired colors, navigate to Calibre-->E-book viewer-->Preferences-->Theming-->Save current settings as a theme-->Save-->type a name-->OK.

The mentioned process is repeatable, in the sense that one can save numerous themes, themes changeable under Calibre-->E-book viewer-->Preferences-->Theming-->Load a previously saved theme

Adjusting various configuration options, usually tends to modify the settings to a stage where it is impossible to manually achieve Calibre settings's initial/original configuration default set, action that is to be performed (starting with 0.8.63 release) via the new Restore Defaults button, located on E-book viewer's Preferences.

The mentioned features, as well as bug fixes and new news sources (High Country Blogs, Dziennik Polski, Philosophy Now), come to deliver a more solid Calibre version.
