Drawers 12.08.8 released with via-mouse screen placement, enriched visuals and items sorting
Drawers is handy utility designed with Unity in mind, tool useful to group items by dragging&dropping files, folders, web links, etc, directly into an opened drawer.
Drawers' visuals are represented via a Unity launcher icon (the actual drawer) and its mini Dash (opened drawer), latter Dash-like dialog/window that exposes the contained items.
Drawers is definitely a project where improvements and polish are constantly landed, pushing the app into a zone of creative refresh efforts, basically, receiving both under-the-hood and eyecandy additions.
Drawers 12.08.8 has been released, introducing exciting new features.
Its title has been centered on the "titlebar" and the buttons (Close, Preferences) have been moved to the very left, minor yet relevant changes that align the app's look&feel with the desktop.
Adding numerous items into a drawer, tends to "confuse" the user trying to access specific items, nevertheless, the new 12.08.8 introduces the ability to automatically sort items by name, both A-Z and viceversa, Z-A, basically, a 1-click away manner of properly organizing drawers's contained items.
Until-now, clicking on a Unity launcher's drawer, was summoning its mini Dash next to it (similar to quicklists); the new release adds an exciting feature to place on-user-preference the mini Dash on various places of the desktop (including non-near-launcher areas), meaning, clicking&holding&dragging the opened drawer's title (as opposed to Alt+mouse) to the bottom-right corner of the desktop, places the drawer on the bottom-right corner.
The mentioned features, along with various under-the-hood improvements, minor visual tweaks and good-to-be-known details (such as the number of times a specific drawer has been opened, accessible under opened drawer-->Preferences-->Number of times you've opened a Drawer), come to deliver more features and power to the handy Unity-oriented Drawers.
