Free open-source Minecraft-inspired game, Minetest 0.4.1 released (official PPA available)
Minetest is a versatile free open-source building game, created with Infiniminer and Minecraft in mind, featuring a gameplay consisting of creating and destroying blocks, action located in a 3D world.
The Minetest character is to walk around, dig, create and build in an infinite world, helping itself by crafting (method to create blocks and items, in order to craft "stuff", the player must move items from their inventory into a 3x3 crafting grid; numerous recipes are available, by default or additionally created, such as basic recipes --wooden planks, stick, torch, furnace, chest, locked chest, tool recipes --pickaxe, axe, shovel, sword, bucket, block recipes --steel block, clay, brick block, sandstone, bookshelf, slab, stair, misc recipes --ladder, fence, sign, wooden door, paper, book, rall) items from available materials.
Minetest features multiplayer support, "almost infinite world" and a high-quality low-specs-friendly map generator (and overall gaming experience).
Minetest's blocks are similar to Minecraft's, featuring a 16x16 texture, categorized in naturally generated blocks (stone, dirt, sand, cactus, papyrus, water, mese, nyan cat, sapling, etc), manufactured (wood, clay, brick, chest, door, etc) and created by various events (such as fire).

How do we install Minetest 0.4.1?
Add the following official PPA (Natty, Oneiric, Precise, Quantal)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:minetestdevs/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minetestc55
Launch Minetest via the Dash by typing
minetest in the search area.
