Geotag your pictures with GottenGeography 2.0, fancy powerful geotagging utility (PPA available)

Traveling the world, searching the annual movement of animal species, optimal understanding of cultures growth, properly organize historic artifacts as related to a certain region modified in various countries across the world, studying geography, etc, are actions that sometimes need a reliable method of relating pictures to a certain country, city, continent, etc, basically by infusing geographical coordinates "into" a picture, from where, when the situation requires it, to be used for proper localization.

GottenGeography is a fancy, lightweight, yet packed with solid features, utility that allows one to easily geotag images via an easily graspable intuitive interface.

Launching the tool, presents the user two areas: the left-side of the screen where images are to be housed, and the right-side area where a zoomable map is located "backed" by a transparent black-ish top bar displaying coordinates.

The left-side of the screen is categorized in Photos ("regular" images), Cameras (images taken with a camera) and GPS.

Tagging a picture is as simple as dragging&dropping it into the Photos area and/or open via the top-left folder icon, then dragging&dropping the picture onto the map, action that creates and displays an orange tooltip featuring the image's name (pressing the top-left Save All button writes the geotag into the picture).

If the acquired geographical position is not accurate, by dragging the orange tooltip across the map, the user is to modify its geotagging location, process helped by the Photos' image preview real-time coordinates updating (meaning, if the location is not suitable, choosing a preferred geographical location is to be easily achieved by dragging the tooltip and looking at the in-progress-modifiable image coordinates).

After a geotag is selected and saved, the option to revert the geotag to its previous state, is possible via the code>Revert button.

GottenGeography offers a handy way of dealing with geotags via a double-sided approach: on numerous available images, clicking on a picture, highlights its tooltip and viceversa, clicking on a tooltip, highlight its left-side's picture.

Handling numerous images displayed across the map, can trigger confusion related to one's accurate position on the map, issue immediately remediable by selecting a picture and click the Center the map view on the selected photo button (near Revert) and/or Place selected photos onto center of map (near the Save All button).

GottenGeography brings a solid location search bar, handy suggestions included, as well as support to select from numerous available maps (MapQuest OSM, Maps for Free Relief, OpenStreetMap Cycle Map, OpenStreetMap Mapnik, OpenStreetMap Transport Map), map locations that can be opened (on-demand) via Google Maps by pressing the top-left Google.

The Cameras view adds an enhanced camera support, featuring time correction and manual increase/decrease of time (like for instance, Add 3m,38s to clock, action triggered by dragging the slider).

The added geotags are GottenGeography-independent, meaning, the geotags are recognized by various applications, such as Ubuntu's Shotwell (under select a picture-->View-->Extended Information).

Along with the mentioned functionalities, GottenGeography comes with numerous keyboard shortcuts.
