Media player Xnoise 0.2.9 released with visual refinements and enhanced Magnatune plugin
Xnoise is a simplistic yet powerful media player, allowing the user to gather, manage and easily access both local and online music tracks, media player designed with a track-centric approach in mind.
Xnoise has been updated to another interesting release, 0.2.9, refining numerous key points, key points landed weeks ago.
Xnoise, along with support for local tracks, comes with support for Ubuntu One Music Store and Magnatune; the new 0.2.9 enriches the Magnatune plugin, providing right-click functionalities, meaning, clicking Magnatune, exposes available music albums, double-clicking on an album/artist expands its sub-"menu" (contained items), right-clicking on an album, exposes handy actions, such as Collapse all, Add to tracklist, Add all tracks to tracklist.
Furthermore, by pressing the Download whole album to disk, the album is downloaded to the disk (Magnatune account required, in order to sign into Magnatune, navigate to Xnoise-->Edit-->Preferencess-->Magnatune)
The Magnatune plugin is now presented with a specific icon, removing the "old" used generic icon, being visually aligned with the Ubuntu One Music Store, visual enhancements followed by the newly implemented music album's thumbnail exposed on the toolbar.
Xnoise 0.2.9 brings a redesigned settings dialog (accessible under Xnoise-->Edit-->Preferences) with categories vertically displayed on the left side, presenting itself as an optimized click-flow approach.
Xnoise houses its configuration options via its top-right "cog" icon (the default behavior), approach that, while one-place-only keeping configuration options, "removes"/blocks its appmenu, consequently, hovering the mouse pointer over the Unity panel, displays a "blank" panel (without menus); nevertheless, the appmenu can be easily enabled by navigating to Xnoise "cog" icon-->Preferences-->General-->uncheck Compact layout
The mentioned action, automatically disables/hides the "cog" and exposes Xnoise's menu on the Unity panel, thus allowing the user to (on demand) fully maneuver Xnoise via the HUD.
