Meet uPdf, handy effective PDF editor
Books, documents, etc, are sometimes created as PDF on the internets, file format containing text, images, geometric shapes, colors, etc, in order to express contained informations; nevertheless, along with the reading functionality, there are various situations where the user is "forced" to add both minor and in-depth customizations, editing process that is to contain both simplistic text editing, as well as page removal, image insertions, etc.
uPdf is a handy utility designed with effective editing functionalities in mind, allowing the user to hassle-free edit a PDF file in a matter of minutes via an intuitive immediately graspable interface.
A definitely interesting aspect of uPdf is its double-sided "modes", when the application is launched, the toolbar icons (except Open) are rendered as vividless, adding a PDF file to uPdf, colors the toolbar icons with a red color, thus creating an attention-like editing look & feel.
Adding a PDF file is as simple as clicking the top-left Open button and selecting a file, action that opens the item as ready to be edited.
On the left side, uPdf displays the in-progress-edited-document's pages (area usable to scroll the document), clicking on a page, displays its full content on the right-side/main area.
uPdf comes with support to 1-click away insert objects, such as lines, rectangles, circles, ellipses, objects accessible via toolbar's symbolic fancy icons (shaped in relation with their functionality, such as the rectangle icon is used to create a rectangle, etc, visual approach definitely a plus oriented towards decreasing uPdf's learning curve).
Adding text is to be performed by clicking the toolbar T button, action followed by clicking on a portion of the PDF file and typing text; hitting the Enter key, "freezes" the text on its current position, by clicking on another area of the PDF file, the user is able to write another piece of text, distinct from the "frozen" text (if Enter is not pressed, clicking on another area, automatically moves the text on the clicked area).
Clicking Ubuntu 11, summons Ubuntu's font utility, from where numerous fonts can be selected.
Adding an image is to be achieved by clicking the toolbar star-like button and temporarily drawing an area, process followed by selecting an image to be pasted on the edited part.
In order to delete previously added items (text, images, rectangles, etc), click the toolbar trash icon and hover over the about-to-be-deleted item (and thus selecting it), clicking on it, deletes the selected item.
uPdf supports text highlighting by drawing an yellow highlight bar via the toolbar yellow icon, drawing the line on the middle of (for instance) a word, adds a fancy yellow highlight to it.
uPdf features a versatile page insertion manner, in the sense of allowing the user to select another PDF file and insert its pages both before and after the current page and/or as page ranges (like for instance, specifying 5-20 inserts the newly added pages into the edited PDF from page 5 to page 20, basically, a simplistic yet highly usable method of merging two distinct PDF files).
Deleting a page (or pages) follows the above mentioned approach, with support to delete a specific page and/or page ranges (multiple pages at once).
Along with the mentioned functionalities, uPdf features zoom IN/OUT, page rotate, fit zoom, etc.
