Shotwell 0.11 released with extended support, bug fixes and more

Shotwell, Ubuntu's default digital photo manager, has reached yet another significant release, 0.11 version, packed with extended support, new features and numerous bug fixes.

What is new in Shotwell 0.11?

  • new Saved Search options
  • support for BMP format
  • “Hide Photos Already Imported” is now persistent
  • support for RAW+JPEG and selectable RAW developer
  • hierarchical tags (just drag&drop a tag into another "parent" tag)

  • migration to GSettings (can now be configured via dconf-editor)

How do we install Shotwell 0.11?
Add the following official PPA (Natty)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/ppa

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install shotwell

Shotwell 0.11 has already landed in Oneiric Ocelot via the Update Manager.
