Shotwell 0.12.3 released with bug fixes

Shotwell

Ubuntu's default photo manager, Shotwell, has been updated to version 0.12.3, bringing bug fixes and various improvements.

The new 0.12.3 release adds improved file detection on various cameras, correct exposing of all tags (fixes the missing tags bug), improved usable autoenhace, as well as proper zoom actions.

How do we install Shotwell 0.12.3?
Add the following official PPA (Oneiric)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/ppa

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install shotwell

Shotwell 0.12.3 is to land in Ubuntu 12.04 in the next hours/days via the regular updates.

At a joke level, the release announcement contains a more original approach in explaining the key features in the 0.12.3 version:
It’s with joy and with pride, both in no small degree,
That I get to announce oh-twelve dot three.

Bugs have been squashed and fixes were made,
Therefore, we suggest all users upgrade.

You’ll like this if your camera’s AVCHD,
And tags are safe now in your library,

And with dark images, if ‘enhance’ you smash,
Or zoom using hotkeys, it’ll no longer crash.
