Steam and one Valve game to be available as BETA "sometime in October" (2012)
Powerful gaming experience on Ubuntu is an aspect starting to be materialized via numerous games landed in Ubuntu Software Center (or available via USC) in the latest months, furthermore, it seems that new exciting games are to arrive in Ubuntu in the near future.
Valve announced (on its dedicated Linux blog) that Steam is to land in October 2012 as BETA, allowing gamers to test it, BETA stage conducted with a double-sided approach: next week, an internal BETA is to be performed, followed by a private BETA testing, where 1,000 users will be able to run Steam.
The actual testing process includes Steam, one Valve game and support for Ubuntu 12.04 and above, not yet including "Big Picture mode" and "additional Valve games".
"We will be using a sign up page for the external beta. Information about the sign up will be announced in a future post".
