The developers implemented the HUD in Ubuntu 12.04, HUD adopted and further implemented into upcoming releases, such as Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 13.04.

Meet Stealthy, the appindicator that stops the Zeitgeist logging

Zeitgeist is Ubuntu's default logging events application that exposes the events via the Dash in a useful way allowing users to observe/rerun their recent played movies, images, etc.
The "downside" aspect of Zeitgeist is that sometimes we don't want our particular files to be tracked (and exposed in the Dash) for various reasons (like for instance, multiple users on the same computer).
