Apt-fast is a shellscript wrapper for apt-get that improves one's apt-get download speed by simultaneously downloading packages with multiple connections per package.

Apt-fast provides, basically, apt-get's functionalities with faster download speed, being used in the same manner as apt-get by simply changing get with fast:

  • install firefox with apt-get

    sudo apt-get install firefox
