Meet Faience, innovative polished GTK+ theme

After the newly updated Faenza 1.3 and Faience 0.5, Tiheum has released a new fresh GTK+ theme, Faience, aimed at (but not only) being used with Faience (the icon theme).

The look is innovative and filled with creative artistic touches, while retaining a "light" intuitive feel.

Usually, icons play a relevant role on the desktop, enriching the desktop's look & feel with fancy shapes, pleasant-to-the-eye colors, proper occupation of panels, etc, consequently, while searching a modern intuitive yet "entertaining" desktop, the user is to install various icon themes (in order to tune the desktop to use cases, artistic "requirements", casual moods, etc).

Faience 0.3 released with new redesigned icons, new sizes and more

Faience 0.3

Faience is the newest icon theme from Faenza's Tiheum, which brings 3D effects, more vivid colors and metal textures.

Although is a work in progress at the moment (and still needs Faenza to be installed), this fancy icon theme is at its third release, thus becoming quite consistent with numerous changes brought with every release.

How to "repair" Faenza and Faience's Messaging Menu notification

Faience and Faenza are two gorgeous icon themes featuring both monochrome and colorful beautifully designed icons.

If you are using Ubuntu's default icon theme, Unity panel manages its attention-related events by changing the color of the envelope (this is the Messaging Menu's behavior).

Faience 0.2 released with Unity panel support, numerous redesigned icons and more

Faience is an improved Faenza (or Faenza seen in a different way) that is built with 3D in mind, meaning numerous icons have a 3D shadowed contour.

Faience 0.2 has been released just now, bringing, among numerous changes, support for Ubuntu 11.10's Unity panel (Faience was designed, at its very conception, for GNOME-Shell).

Faience 0.1, new icon theme, released

Faience is the name of the newest "creation" of Faenza's Tiheum, an icon theme created with GNOME-Shell in mind (at least at the moment) but works in Unity, too (in this stage of development, in Faience there is a limited support for the Unity panel, so, you will loose some of the monochrome icons).

Faience 0.1 is a work-in-progress and depends on Faenza (it is basically another improved version of Faenza), so, to run it, you need to install Faenza.
