GNOME-Shell's correct term usage

GNOME 3 has been released a few days ago, and along with it the fancy shell, GNOME-Shell.

Its freshness brought excitement and joy, but confusion as well, misunderstandings created by the new components and the names of that components.

So, which one is dash, activity, etc?

  • "Activities button"-->the top-left button, when you click it, it opens the "Activities overview"

GNOME 3 delayed until September 2011, Gnome-shell possibly abandoned (Unity to receive GNOME's love???)

WE ARE NOW 100% SURE, THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOLS' JOKE (GNOME's, not ours)!!!

As we all have witnessed, Gnome 3 was almost ready for release (the developers have created in the recent past weeks GNOME 3 images in order to be tested by the users and, of course, the important feedback be gathered), but, just now, on April 1st at the GNOME Release Team from Bangalore, India, a shocking decision has been taken--> GNOME 3 release is delayed until September 2011.

Gnome 3 dives into bling-bling (new redesigned icons)

Good new for the users with an interest in bling and properly-made icons!
Gnome 3 has now some new, redesigned icons whom to present in its fancy Gnome Shell.
Along with the probably keeping the freshness line with the Gnome 3, the new icons have been made because "GNOME shell exposes application icons in higher resolution than usual, the design team fixed up the most visible app launcher icons to include the ridiculous size of 256×256px".
