Zeitgeist is Ubuntu's default logging events application that exposes the events via the Dash in a useful way allowing users to observe/rerun their recent played movies, images, etc.
The "downside" aspect of Zeitgeist is that sometimes we don't want our particular files to be tracked (and exposed in the Dash) for various reasons (like for instance, multiple users on the same computer).
