Ubuntu One removes the support for Tomboy notes syncing at the end of February 2013

Presently, the Ubuntu One development team is actively focused on migrating Ubuntu One to a new data sync infrastructure.

As a consequence, various old services are to be removed, as part of the new directions, including the removal of the ability to sync Tomboy notes through Ubuntu One across multiple computers.

Tomboy 1.10 released with new icon and various enhancements

Tomboy is a powerful note-taking application, designed with simplicity and a solid stack of features in mind.

Ubuntu 12.04 ditched Tomboy from its default applications, nevertheless the app is available via Ubuntu Software Center.

Tomboy has been updated to another version, 1.10, bringing bug fixes, sync improvements and various enhancements.

Tomboy is back as a default Ubuntu 11.10 app

Tomboy Oneiric

Ubuntu's default note-taking application, Tomboy, has been until now (starting two weeks ago) surrounded by a cloud of misunderstanding about its default removal from Oneiric Ocelot.

According to its official Twitter account "Tomboy is not being dropped from Ubuntu Oneiric. We just need to make a tiny fix in our dependency chain" (June 16th 2011).

PasteBinIt Addin for Tomboy 0.1 released

Tomboy, Ubuntu's default desktop note-taking app, is a great tool with plenty of functionalities, including Ubuntu One sync support.

PasteBinIt Addin for Tomboy adds the ability to send a note to a pastebin service (and opens your web-broweser to show that published note) directly from your tomboy note, "for now it will use your default service and settings, but in the future I plan to make that configurable from within Tomboy".
