Ubuntu 12.10 ALPHA 2 released
Ubuntu 12.10 ALPHA 2 has just been released, adding improvements, features and bug fixes.
Quantal ALPHA 2 introduces a refreshed Nautilus, that both gained and removed functionalities, such as the new ability to create a new folder with selected items, option to drag&drop files directly into Bookmarks (feature that landed days ago in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, too), etc, simplified right-click menu, removal of Nautilus-->Go-->Computer, compact view, tree view and its statusbar.
Baobab/Disk Usage Analyzer 3.5.3 has been improved with a new fancy "home" view, that gathers and properly exposes one's partitions, with big icons, size measurement and separate Scan button.
Quantal Quetzal ALPHA 2 also brings numerous under-the-hood improvements with fixes and enhancements for Gwibber (new up-to-date used Twitter icon, matching the official Twitter icon), System Settings, Ubuntu One (updated to a "superior" 3.99 version with both code improvements and fixed visual small details, such as connection speed representation, various alignments, etc), Ubuntu Software Center (addition of file:// .deb style handling, etc).
Ubuntu 12.10 ALPHA 2 is available for download on http://releases.cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/quantal/alpha-2/
