Ubuntu developers: Ubuntu App Showdown to probably be repeated
UbuntuOnAir is an online official Ubuntu event, where various Ubuntu-relevant guests are invited, in order to, during a two hour live-streamed video event, answer questions asked by users, questions ranging from present Ubuntu issues, future plans, places useful to resolve bugs, etc.
The latest UbuntuOnAir session has just ended today, July 26th 2012, session lead by Jorge Castro, Alan Pope, Ben Kerensa and Jose Antonio Rey, featuring interesting guests, such as Ubuntu's Jono Bacon, Ubuntu's Michael Hall, Ubuntu's Steve Langasek, Ubuntu's Leann Ogasawara, Ubuntu's Chris VanHoof, Ubuntu's Robert Carr, Ubuntu's Brian Murray and Dell's Barton George.
Along with a broad topic approach, the developers, answering to a question, stated that the Ubuntu App Showdown (an official contest, where users, using Ubuntu technologies, compete in creating applications that, after a voting process, will be rewarded with System76 laptops and Nokia N9 phones) is to probably be repeated (hour/minutes/seconds 1:35:17), due to the enormous users' response, that, during the three weeks' period of development time, have created more than 140 applications that are to land in Ubuntu Software Center.
