Ubuntu One launches new Music Store
Ubuntu One is a useful technology that provides 5GB of free space to be used by users, space accessible via the desktop and/or trough its online place, space provided for free by default (furthermore, the users can purchase various payed plans when searching to extend the used storage).
Along with the mentioned storage functionality, Ubuntu One incorporates a music store, easily accessible via Ubuntu's default music player, Rhythmbox, where previewing tracks (listening the first minute) and buying music albums can be achieved.
The developers have just launched the new Ubuntu One Music Store, a fancy online-based store, consequently, the users are now able to purchase music via the web (mobile devices supported).
Navigating to http://one.ubuntu.com and hitting the Music button-->Music Store, presents the user a slideshow-enabled pleasant-to-the eye interface, featuring proportioned components, clear controls, properly exposed tracks and albums, progress-aware track previews, etc, "no clumsy downloading is needed, as soon as you complete the transactions your music will appear in your Ubuntu One music cloud folder".
A definitely interesting aspect of the displayed slideshow is its categorization, in the sense of exposing multiple music albums per banner, consequently, clicking on myalbum1, opens it via its webpage, clicking myalbum2 "contained" by the same banner, opens it in a different specific webpage.
Searching music is as easily as typing a word in the Search music area and pressing Enter, action that populates the view with both albums and tracks.
"Our new store offers all the same functionality as the Ubuntu One music store in Rhythmbox, only has a new slicker navigation that makes discovering and buying the music you love even easier".
The official releasing process have been paired with an exciting promotion, users who buy music ("any purchase") starting today and ending October (end of October 2012), will automatically receive Ubuntu One Music Streaming for free (free period valid 6 months).
Worth mentioning
Non-promotion's Music Streaming costs $3.99/month and includes 20GB of storage usable for files, music and photos.
