Ubuntu One removes Facebook contacts from its online dashboard
Ubuntu, as an operating system, has been and it is constantly improved and enriched with new features, real innovations, fancy polish, etc, attitude adopted by Ubuntu's cloud "expansion", Ubuntu One.
Ubuntu One is, starting in the latest months, subjected to serious under-the-hood refinements and optimizations, and, as part of this process, several internal components are simultaneously refreshed, consequently, "we’ve been gradually turning off services that are reliant on the old infrastructure and providing little value to users in their current form", meaning, the developers have just removed the Facebook contacts import&sync from Ubuntu One's web interface/dashboard.
Nevertheless, the users already using the mentioned Facebook functionality, will continue to enjoy it, being able to manually add and edit contacts.
The above attitude hasn't been created as opposed to contacts's development, but, contrary, aims at building Contacts on top of the upcoming Ubuntu One infrastructure changes.
