Ubuntu Software Center adds software recommendations (Ubuntu 12.04)
Precise Pangolin's Ubuntu Software Center (work in progress at the moment) has and still is receiving exciting new features, along with polish and UI refinements, presenting itself as a mature, professional app center.
Ubuntu Software Center 5.1.10 has just landed in Ubuntu 12.04 bringing an initial part of "intelligence", meaning, USC gained the ability to perform software recommendations, thus, in this new version, when it is opened, USC displays, at the bottom of the window, Turn On Recommendations button, that is to probably populate its panel/area with applications related to your previously installed software.
Furthermore, the above mentioned button opens an Ubuntu Sign in dialog, probably in order to increase the app matching on the used computer, as well as a possible integration with OneConf ( built-in USC service useful for app synchronization across numerous computers based on an account) or just acting as a sign-into like USC (remembering what apps one installed on previous machines).
This is the initial implementation, that is to probably be further developed and tightly integrated into USC in the next weeks.
