Unite squares and navigate through portals with the lightweight Memory Owl Lite and Portal Slingshot (Ubuntu Software Center)

Related to gaming, Ubuntu has adopted a double-sided approach, being focused on both "small" and "big" games, thus, while receiving the Humble Bundle, support for Unity (the gaming platform) and waiting Left 4 Dead 2, constantly landing lightweight yet entertaining games into Ubuntu Software Center.

Memory Owl Lite is an exciting game featuring high-quality visual components, backed by smooth game interactions, basically, allowing the gamer to enjoy a pleasant fun game.

Launching the game, presents a colored screen from where the gaming environment is to be selected, Water, Ice and Earth, environments filled with specific details, keeping the game "fresh" and ruled by modified actions, such as melting the ice cubes in relation to pressed-cube-action amount (Ice "world"), "forcing" the gamer to find square matches while "drowning" the screen with constantly added water (Water "universe"), etc.

Memory Owl Lite's gaming is mainly oriented on matching squares, clicking on a square, reveals its "identity", clicking on another square, reveals its identity, if the revealed identity is the same, the user clicks&holds&moves a square towards its "twin", hitting them, automatically "destroys" them, action that, when applied to all of the displayed squares, solves the stage.

Memory Owl Lite is available for free via Ubuntu Software Center, nevertheless, being "Lite" has limitations (such as blocked levels).

Portal Slingshot is a minimalistic yet interesting game, "forcing" the gamer to carefully navigate through obstacles in order to reach the "prey".

Basically, the actor creates portals, entering into a portal, catapults the monochrome "seeker" into another portal, thus navigating between and through portals, the user is to collect yellow circles, necessary to complete the level.

Portal Slingshot comes with configuration options, needed to adjust various parameters, such as Inverted controls, Sound ON/OFF and number of exposed dots.
