VLC 2.0.1 released (PPA available)

Weeks ago, VLC media player shifted from the 1.x version to release 2.0, codenamed Twoflower, bringing numerous enhancements in terms of UI, video playback and overall improvements.

VLC 2.0.1 has been launched as a mainly bug fixes release, presenting itself as the first stability-related version in the 2.x series.

Enhanced handling of various formats (HLS, MKV, RAR, Ogg, Bluray disc), as well as numerous fixed regressions, come to contour the 2.0.1 release.

How do we install VLC 2.0.1?
Add the following official PPA (Oneiric, Precise)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc
