Xnoise 0.2.13 adds fancy Album Art view and new app icon

Xnoise is a fast, intuitive and powerful music player (video support included), designed with expressing music tracks as a center, from where the user is to hassle-free enjoy a pleasant music experience.

Along with its speed and offered features, Xnoise is a project constantly enriched with both under-the-hood optimizations and UI refinements, development effort materialized in a good-looking music player featuring online service integration (such as Ubuntu One Music Store, Magnatune, etc), monochrome icons, built-in "sub-panel" (housing numerous clickable preferences), etc.

Xnoise has been updated to another interesting release, 0.2.13, continuing its road towards fresh new UI additions (packed with bug fixes, updated translations, etc)

Album Art is a fancy new music track view, taking Xnoise a step further towards modern up-to-date creative visuals, thus adding an extra view to the singular (until the 0.2.13 version) text-only representation of tracks.

Furthermore, a monochrome button is displayed on the toolbar, clicking on it, pushes the tracks into the Album Art view, view featuring big-sized monochrome-enabled track thumbnails (light musical note "versus" dark shadowed surrounding square) and big-sized thumbnails (rendering the album's image, if present).

When on Album Art view, double-clicking on an item, plays the item (via the regular track view); right-clicking on a music track, summons a menu containing useful options (such as Change album data, Add all tracks to tracklist, latter entry that adds the displayed items to the main music track view).

Searching a track is as easily as typing a word in the top-left search area, action that filters (search-as-you-type) the items through the typed word.

The Album Art view can be enabled/disabled by clicking on the top-right 9-points monochrome icon, as well as via the Ctrl+B keyboard shortcut.

Usually, app icons play a relevant role on how an application is perceived, usually containing visual bits (related to its identity).

The new 0.2.13 introduces a new icon, expressing the X with more rounded "warm" shapes, while the background is rendered with pleasant-to-the-eye exotic yet serious non-cartoonish color tones (inserting a visual "joy" into the app).

While playing music, clicking the bottom-right Now Playing button, displays the played track with big album art image, "title", artist, etc, Now Playing mode newly enriched with reflections (reflecting the image on the dark background).

Monochrome icons are an aspect further considered in Xnoise's development, the newly released 0.2.13 version brings a monochrome volume icon (located on the top-right corner), as well as rendering the X with a monochrome icon (adopting the shape of the app icon).
