Zeitgeist 0.9 BETA 1 released (PPA available)
Ubuntu's default event logger, Zeitgeist, has been recently taken through a major "reconstruction", porting serious components to Vala, meaning Zeitgeist is, in its 0.9 version, faster and properly optimized (from used resources point-of-view).
The new 0.9 version has already landed in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and in its official stable PPA, meaning users can install the 0.9 release (0.8.99) in Oneiric Ocelot.
Zeitgeist 0.9 BETA 1 has just been released, bringing under-the-hood improvements (shifting from an ALPHA stage to BETA 1).
How do we install Zeitgeist 0.9 BETA 1 (0.8.99)?
Add the following official PPA (Oneiric)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zeitgeist/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
then
zeitgeist-daemon --replace
